Tips to land the job.

Tips to land the job.

Here at the American College of Healthcare and Technology, we know your education is important, but we also know getting the job after you graduate is just as important. Here are some tips to help you land the job.

Nail your resume- Your resume is one of, if not the most important things to the job process because it represents who you are and what you bring to the table without the employer ever meeting you. The appearance of your resume is very important. Make sure your resume has a font that is easy to read, highlights your skills, and has proper references. When creating your resume, have it go through spell check and to have multiple people proofread it.

Take advantage of our career services center- We know that finding a job can be tough, even with a stellar resume, which is why the American College of Healthcare and Technology is here with job assistance. We have a 4-step system to match you with an employer using your location, skills, and personality to set you up with the best possible employer.  We help provide a list of possible jobs for you and even can help with setting up interview dates and times.

When applying use as many sources as possible- There are many websites that you can use to help you get a job, indeed, monster, craigslist, ZipRecruiter to name a few. Using as many as these resources as possible is your best bet. Send as many resumes and applications in as possible, because you will not always hear back immediately from a job, and casting a wide net is essential in finding the right job.

Cover letters are important- We know that sending in resumes or applications are essential parts of getting a job, but many people do not realize adding a well-written cover letter can make you stand out even more. Many employers like a well written, concise, and a personable letter that highlights your qualifications. Make sure each letter shows off your skills, has proper grammar and spelling, and makes you stand out independent of your resume.
