Prerequisite: Experience with CADD software and understanding of architectural design/drafting or interior design or landscape design.

Methods of Instruction: Lecture, Reading, Hands-on assignments, and projects (trainees are encouraged if allowed, to bring actual work projects).
Course Description:
This course guides students through each step of the SketchUp workflow, from the early stages of schematic design and model organization for both renovation and new construction projects to final documentation. Students will learn how to maximize the LayOut toolset for drafting and professional presentations.
The course covers workflow methods that simplify design tasks and provide the knowledge needed to incorporate varying levels of SketchUp into the design process. Students will learn best practices for organizing projects, drafting schematics, and effectively using the LayOut toolset, including creating example plans, details, sections, presentations, and other documentation.
Topics include using SketchUp and LayOut within a BIM workflow, file and folder management, base templates, toolbars, SketchUp collections, the LayOut environment, and more.
