Tips to pass your licensing exams

Tips to pass your licensing exams

In Surgical Technology and Physical Therapy Aide/Massage therapy students must take an exam to be licensed in California. Here are some tips to help make sure you pass your exams.

Study hard and study often: You won’t pass any of your exams if you don’t study, these exams that cover everything that you have learned in your time in the program is no different. Studying for your exams in class will help you pass the one after your externship. Studying more, earlier will subtract from how much you have to study before the license exam because you already have all that knowledge. Use the notes you take in class and also make flashcards, these materials will help you throughout your time school and your post graduate exams.

Take advantage of help: In our programs, the instructors at the American College of Healthcare and Technology offer help every step of the way to pass your post graduate exams. Surgical Technology offers classes every Friday to help students review material from the previous week and to refresh them on anything that was lectured in the past.

Keep your work and notes: Make sure to keep all schoolwork, homework and notes that you can to help you prepare. The information that you learn here at the American College of Healthcare and Technology is set up so you can succeed in your field. Don’t forget to keep it with you to study

Use your externship to your advantage: While you are out on externship you will be working with others who were once in your position. Take advantage of the time you are there by picking the brain of others who have passed the exam, and see what kind of tips they can give you to that worked for them. While studying and taking advantage of everything American College of Healthcare and Technology provides helps, it’s invaluable to get wisdom from the people who have already passed their exams and can provide insight on how to pass it yourself.

Have a plan for exam day: The day of the exam make sure that you got plenty of sleep the night before, eat a nice meal before you go, review some topics that have given you trouble and focus solely on the exam in front of you. Get to the exam site early and make sure you have all the materials you need to take the exam. Months of hard work and studying can be undone by some small mistakes or lapses on the day of the exam.
