10 things to succeed in Massage Therapy/Physical Therapy Aide

Our Physical Therapy Aid and Massage therapy program is a 8-month program offered at our Riverside and Huntington Park campuses.

  1. Don’t procrastinate: Get your work done before it is due. If you procrastinate on doing your work, you are going to be behind and stressed you have to do everything the last minute.

  2. Treat it like a job: Act like a professional, show up on time, don’t bring your outside problems into the classroom, this is essentially a test run for a future job.

  3. Set a goal: New people come in and they may be intimidated their classmates can answer a question but they may not, but new students should set goals for themselves so when they’re at that point, they can answer questions they didn’t know when they first got there.

  4. Dedication: Stay committed, maintain a positive attitude, always try and stay ahead and give it all you can give because you will get out what you put in.

  5. Be positive: Being positive will make your time here much better. A positive attitude will make learning easier and more fun. It helps other students be better as well.

  6. Be organized: Make sure you know what and where everything is. Keep all your schoolwork together, that way it is easier to find your work when you need to study and keep your notes together as well.

  7. Be open to constructive criticism: Don’t take mistakes to heart. I’m here to build you up, not tear you down. You’re going to make mistakes, make sure you learn from them so you don’t do them again.

  8. Preparation: Come into class and lab prepared for class. Being prepared will make your life much easier, being prepared will make your life much easier. Being prepared will make sure that you don’t fall behind and stay current with all your work.

  9. Have an open mind: Come into class ready to learn. Being open to learning new and different things. Be able to make things your own while following instructions, because everyone is going to learn and do things the way that is most comfortable for them.

  10. Have fun: This may be the most important one. Learning is supposed to be fun. This class is fun while you are here, just enjoy yourself. If you are having fun you are going to learn more and enjoy your time in class.
